In-Row / In-Rack Cooling Systems

As heat density increases in data centers, traditional room-based cooling solutions become insufficient. In-Row and In-Rack cooling systems control hot spots at their source, ensuring maximum energy efficiency and uniform temperature distribution. ERFA Information Technologies designs modular cooling solutions tailored to the data center’s physical architecture, load density, and airflow scenarios. These systems are integrated with precise temperature control, energy optimization, and engineering approaches specific to high-density cabinet infrastructures.

System Type:

In-Row, In-Rack, Rear-Door, and Modular Cooling

Operating Principle:

Source-based cooling with hot air isolation

Efficiency:

Low PUE and high energy optimization

Control:

Automatic humidity, temperature, and airflow management

Infrastructure Compatibility:

Full integration with hot/cold aisle containment architecture

Application Area:

Medium and high-density data centers

In-Row cooling systems are positioned between cabinet rows to control hot air directly at its source. Airflow is directed without short-circuiting, minimizing fan power and energy consumption. In In-Rack cooling systems, cooling modules are directly integrated into the rack, providing independent thermal control for each cabinet. This method is ideal for achieving maximum performance in high-density hardware environments.

"Cooling doesn’t just lower temperature—it boosts system efficiency."

ERFA Information Technologies integrates In-Row and In-Rack systems with embedded sensors, variable speed fan technologies (VRF/EC Fan), refrigerant management, and BMS/DCIM integrations. Before commissioning, each system undergoes airflow, humidity, temperature distribution, and heat load testing. As a result, the data center produces cooling power proportional to its energy consumption, ensuring continuous improvement in PUE performance.
